Welcome to the Events and Competitions section of our website. 

The first ever Isles of Scilly Tourism and Business awards were held on the the Isles of Scilly on the 12th of May 2010. Read the press release and see the photos here.

Over the past 12 months, in conjunction with Radio Scilly, people have been voting for the best 'teacher', 'council employee', 'craftsperson' and 'best charity fundraiser'  - these are just some of the 12 awards won over the last 12 months.

Each winner was presented with their awards at a ceremony at the Atlantic Hotel on St Mary's.

Malcolm Bell, Chief Exec from Visit Cornwall and previously of South West Tourism presented the awards and Matt Higham, financial adviser for the Scillies and regular commentator on the Islands was the MC for the evening.

All 12 award winners were automatically in the running to win a special award named the 'Outstanding Contribution to the Isles of Scilly'.  The winner of this special award was Anglea Jenkins, who received a standing ovation when she went to collect her award - Well done Anglea!
