Cornish Businessman Trains FT Journalists in New System

18 April 2007

A Cornish businessman has recently used his award winning knowledge to help some of the world’s leading financial journalists get to grips with a new investment system.

Peter McGahan, managing director of Truro and Wadebridge based Worldwide Financial Planning, was invited to the offices of the Financial Times to train 13 of its writers in Wraps.

The Wrap platform brings all elements of financial management together in one electronic package.

“It was a real honour to be asked to train some of the world’s leading financial journalists,” said Mr McGahan.

“The Financial Times is undoubtedly one of the most respected financial publications worldwide and I’m pleased that they value my experience and knowledge.”

During the seminar Mr McGahan showed the journalists how consolidating all their bank accounts, pensions, ISAs and unit trusts in a computerised system will enable customers to deal with different assets in one place saving considerable time and money.

“Since we started using the system our customers have enjoyed massive benefits in saving time and money.

“It also allows us to be more environmentally friendly, as we can keep everything in one place, electronically, without the need to print out separate sheets of paper.”

When asked why he felt he was chosen to lead the seminar, Mr McGahan said: “I think the combination of being only one of 70 companies in the UK trialling the system - so having a good knowledge of it, and the fact that we have been recipients of awards from the paper for our work in mortgages, pensions and investments, were the key reasons why I was chosen.

“Also, I get on really well with the team there and am often asked to make comments on the financial issues of the day.

“I think good relationships are the key to success.”
