For the third year running a Cornish firm of independent financial advisers has swept the boards at a national award ceremony.
Worldwide Financial Planning, based in Truro and Wadebridge, collected four out of nine awards at the annual FT Awards.
Held at London’s trendy Quaglinos on Wednesday (9 May), Worldwide won the Small Mortgage Adviser of the Year, Adverse Mortgage Adviser of the Year, Commercial Mortgage Adviser of the Year and Overall UK Mortgage Adviser of the Year.
On hand to collect the trophies were managing director, Peter McGahan, mortgage specialist, Ronan Marrion, and commercial expert, Jeff Lenihan.
“This was such a fantastic evening for us,” said Mr McGahan.
“There were over a hundred of the finest mortgage brokers in that room, from London to Edinburgh, Belfast and Bristol. I am sure they were all very keen to pick up a prize. For us to win one award was going to be amazing. To win four awards out of nine on the night is unbelievable.
“I’m so pleased for our whole team in Cornwall who all work really hard to help our clients get the most out of their money. It also just goes to show that you can be based in Cornwall and be the best in the country.”
It’s the third year running the company has won the U.K mortgage adviser of the year and Adverse Mortgage Adviser of the Year.
“And it’s the second year running we’ve won the Commercial Mortgage Adviser of the Year,” said Mr McGahan.
“The FT judges commented once again that Worldwide showed exceptional skill delivered with utmost integrity, all available in Truro and Wadebridge.”
The company is also hoping for further success after being shortlisted in two categories, Best Use of Technology and Marketing Strategy of the Year, in the Cornwall Business Awards 2007.
“It certainly is an amazing time for us, and I am really happy that our peers have short listed us for these prestigious awards” added Mr McGahan.
