Worldwide In The Community

Worldwide Financial Planning are a successful company who take pride in our relationship with the community.

We support a wide variety of local and community projects and our staff and advisers give their time freely. There are numerous projects, including our Virtual Trading Challenge with local schools, which was coordinated with the Cornwall Learning Education Business Partnership. We also support local sports teams, fellow local businesses and our most recent venture is with the Hall for Cornwall, supporting their MINI-malism project.

We take our Corporate Social Responsibility and our commitment to Cornwall very seriously.

Below is a list of just some of the things we do as part of Cornwall’s diverse and exciting community:

• Neil Chamberlain is a governor with Treviglas school.

• Peter Meeson is a Governor at St.Joseph’s School Launceston and an assessor for Duke of Edinburgh. He also completed the Relay For Life in 2010 and 2008 raised over a £1000 each time

• Andrew Stallard is a governor at Tretherras School Newquay.

• Matt Higham is chair of governors at St Mary’s in Falmouth.

• Worldwide are a patron and Board Member of the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce.

• Worldwide are an Annual Sponsor of the Excellence In Training awards for Cornwall College.

• We are also an Annual Sponsor of the Cornwall Business Awards.

• Worldwide were the Sole headline Sponsor of the Western Morning news ”Think Local’ Campaign.

• We donated a large cheque to fund the purchase of the ferry across to St Georges island at Looe for the Cornwall Wildlife Trust.

• Worldwide are a Cornwall Brand Ambassador.

• Sole sponsor of the Scilly Isles Business and Tourism Awards.

• We are on the Corporate Advisory board for Win Atlantic.

• We were the sole sponsor of the Festival of Lights in Truro.

• We are sponsors of the Cornwall Farming Awards.

• Worldwide are a Corporate Friend of Hall for Cornwall.

• Sponsors with Ocean Falmouth of MINI-malism at Hall for Cornwall

• We sponsored Hall for Cornwall’s ‘Jack’s Cows’ event at Hall for Cornwall.

• We sponsored the amazing Sky Garden event for Hall for Cornwall.

• We are on the Board of the Education Business Partnership.

• We are sole sponsor and joint organiser of the Virtual Trading Challenge which is an annual competition where we train school children on share dealing and then manage the competition for a six month period.

• Sponsor of the Cornwall 100 Club. (Cornwall Community Foundation).

• We are a Mentor on the Empowering Women Project

• We work closely assisting the Cornwall Wildlife trust and also sponsoring them. We have also assisted them with their marketing plans on a voluntary basis.

• Donna Hansen is a gratis adviser to the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust pension scheme.

• Sponsor of Wildlife Trust Wetlands Appeal.

• We sponsor the Wadebridge Camels.

• We undertake fund raising activities each year for Macmillan. The team of runners of which some were from worldwide and some were not raised £22,600 for Macmillan after running the New York Marathon.

• We were the lead sponsor of the Cornish Pirates for the last two years as well as being their financial advisers to the players.

• We are a key committee member of the Stadium For Cornwall campaign.

• We are a Sponsor of Radio Scilly.

• Peter is a board member with Cornwall College and a governor with St Mawgan school – Peter has taken a leave of absence at the moment from all duties to focus on his family and the personal matter in hand.

• We recycle paper and are virtually a paperless environment.
