Matt Higham independent financial adviser from Falmouth has become the first member of Worldwide Financial Planning to gain chartered status.

Matt successfully achieved the accreditation after passing his Advanced Financial Investment Planning exam, which he took in October.

The result means that Matt now has Chartered Financial Planner status, as well as reaching level six accreditation for financial planning.

Matt said: “I am incredibly pleased to have become chartered.

“There has been a lot of hard work, as well as hours of research and revising over the last two years to get to this stage.”

“As well as my own professional development, it shows a commitment to our clients.”

“It gives an added assurance that they will receive the highest possible level of service, support, professionalism and integrity when they are making important financial decisions.”

Under changes made by the Financial Conduct Authority with the introduction of the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) on January 1, 2013, IFAs were required to reach level four in order to carry on practicing.

According to the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) chartered status is the ‘ultimate symbol of professionalism’.

Chartered status enables individuals and firms to demonstrate their professional commitment to raising standards of knowledge, capability and ethical practice.

The team are very proud of Matt and his achievement. As a company we value ongoing professional development, as it benefits both our advisers and most importantly, our clients.
