Cornish IFA Shortlisted for National Award

27 February 2007

A Cornish firm of independent financial advisers is celebrating after being nominated for a financial services award.

Wadebridge and Truro based, Worldwide Financial Planning, has been shortlisted in the Technology Adviser of the Year category by Money Marketing.

“Its really good to be shortlisted for such a prestigious award,” said Worldwide’s managing director, Peter McGahan.

“It will be nice if we win as we have a strong track record in awards.”

Over the last 12 months the company has won Commercial Mortgage Advisor of the Year, Non Confirming Mortgage Advisor of the Year and Overall Mortgage Advisor of the Year to add to its list of previous triumphs.

“For us, however, the glitz is the end result,” said Mr McGahan.

“Its recognition of the hard work and dedication put in by the team here to ensure that our clients get the best possible advice and support available for all their financial planning requirements.”

Worldwide was nominated after Mr McGahan’s fellow director, Neil Chamberlain, put together a paper outlining the company’s use of technology.

“Technology is an integral part of our industry,” said Mr Chamberlain.

“It is vitally important to embrace it to move forward.

“As one of only 70 companies in the UK trialling the new Wrap system we like to think we’re at the forefront.

“We had to supply information about how much impact technology has for us including its costs savings, client benefits, environmental benefits and the benefits it gives us as a business.

“I’m pleased that Money Marketing feel we warrant being shortlisted and I’m very much looking forward to another great awards’ evening.”

The company, which offers advice in all types of financial planning, will find out on March 22 if it has been successful.
