An award-winning Cornish firm of independent financial advisers has received further praise after coming top in a mystery shopper campaign.
Truro and Wadebridge based Worldwide Financial Planning scored highest in a weekly challenge run by the Financial Times’ FT Adviser website.
The mystery shopper contacted four financial advice firms in Cornwall and in the subsequent report found Worldwide’s adviser, Andrew Stallard, gave the best advice and support.
“It’s only after the report was published that we knew that we had been part of the mystery shopper campaign,” said Andrew.
“He contacted with me stating that he’d been left £15,000 as inheritance and wanted to know how he could invest it in the current market.
“I explained how we work as a company and discussed the circumstances over the phone, but stated that it’s best to meet face-to-face with an adviser, like us, to get the best possible outcome.”
The final verdict from the mystery shopper found Andrew to be “really professional. He was friendly, calmly spoken and easy to talk to. He was by-the-book and the shopper could tell he would be given sound, high quality advice.”
Worldwide’s managing director, Peter McGahan, said: “It was pleasing to come out on top of the report.
“But the pleasing thing for me was how well the mystery shopper thought that Andrew handled the enquiry.
“As a company we work hard with our advisers to ensure that they are consistently giving the best advice and support to our customers.
“It was also great that we scored five out of five for the quality of our website – www.wwfp.net.
“It’s a very important tool for us and as well as providing valuable information to visitors, it has also helped to bring a great deal of business into Cornwall.”
